My Beauty Diary: Red Wine Mask review

Hello! Instead of doing korean products review today, I'm gonna do this taiwanese brand sheet mask which I've tried for these past weeks. The one that I tried is the red wine mask.

1 box actually comes with 10 sheet masks. Since I got mine from Changi Airport's watsons, so it costs a bit cheaper than other watsons or guardian.

This masks claims to have anti-oxidant property, firming, and brightening. First what I thought about this products is, I feels that this masks doesn't really work for me. I like how thin the masks is but I am not comfortable with the red wine scent.

Although this masks claims to firmed and brightened my skin but I didn't really see much results. Usually after I use firming masks, I will feel that my face become tighter after I take off the masks. But I just didn't feel anything after using this mask. For the brightening property, I do have an instant brightening expectation on it. But unfortunately, I didn't feel this mask give me much results.

So overall, I couldn't say that I recommend this masks although I really love my beauty diary masks. I guess this time I really have no luck with sheet mask x(. But I will still keep trying other beauty diary mask.

Innisfree: Natural Essential Mask (Rice)

Hi! Today's review is gonna be this sheet mask from Innisfree. I actually bought some Innisfree sheet mask from Korea. And this rice sheet mask is the only one that I've tried.

First I must say that I'm actually quite disappointed. Well I didn't really have much expectation from the first actually.

When I opened this sheet mask, I can see that the mask doesn't really absorb the serum really well. So even when I took the mask out of the packaging, I still see a lot of leftover serum inside. What I did is just use my finger to take out the leftover serum and apply it onto my skin. But honestly it's quite troublesome. The thickness of the mask itself is just normal but somehow I didn't really feel comfortable because I think I'm used to my beauty diary mask which is very thin -.-"

The other cons of this products is after I apply this mask for 20-30 minutes, I felt that my skin was sooooo sticky. So I didn't have choice but to wash my face after application.

The only pros that I can find in this sheet mask is only the brightening property. This rice mask targets dull and rough skin to present clear and vibrant appearance. After application I did see that my complexion has been brightened. Even the day after I apply this mask I can still see the brightening result. So I guess this mask is good for instant brightening. If you are going to attend some party or important occasion, you can use this mask before applying your make up. But remember to wash your face after applying this mask or else the make up won't apply so smoothly. ;)

Etude House Peach Cheek Blusher

My second review for my december korean haul is this cute Etude House Peach Cheek Blusher. Ta-daaa~~

Aren't these adorable?? x) All you do is just pull the top part and it will become like this!

#3 Happy Pink, #5 Happy Peach, #2 Smile Pink (from left to right)

I got 3 colors from this range of blush. And like the packaging, the colors are also very adorable and dollish. These blushes are very typical asian blushes with all the pastel, cute and adorable packaging. Now for the review, these blushes is definitely worth the money! It comes with sponge applicator. You are supposed to stamp these blushes into the cheeks and that's it. But honestly it is too good to be true if you can just stamp the blushes and your cheeks will appear like some korean celebrity. So all you have to do is just stamp these blushes unto your cheeks and blend it with your fingers or brush. Some people might prefer to just use brush to apply the color to the cheeks. These are the swatches of the 3 blushes.

#3 Happy Pink, #5 Happy Peach, #2 Smile Pink (from left to right)

As you can see blush no #3 (left) and #2 (right) is quite similiar, but #2 is definitely a bit lighter than #3. For the texture of these blushes, honestly I find it a bit chalky but not like super chalky or anything. I just find a little bit of dusty textures when I stamp it unto my hand. But on my cheeks, it is just fine. I don't see any chalkiness on my cheeks. The pigmentation of this blush is quite sheer and matte, but don't worry this is definitely buildable. I usually take around 2-3 stamps to my cheeks to get the color that I want.

I haven't really tried these blushes long enough to know if these blushes will stay for a long time on my cheeks. But I did wear this for 5 hours and the blush was still on my cheeks. So if you have dry cheeks like me I think this will last you for quite some time (maybe like 7-8 hours?). Overall for this blush, I really like the color, pigmentation, and of course the packaging. x) I just wish that this blush is not that matte because I think I prefer something more of shimmery blush. But for matte blush this is definitely great :D

Laneige Basic Skin Care review

My first review for my december haul products is these Laneige skincare.

The two products that I bought from Korea is Power Essential Skin Refiner Light and Balancing Emulsion Light. These are the benefit descriptions of using both products which I got from Laneige websites

- Eliminates impurities in the pores, and removes keratin for clear and transparent skin.
- Bio Dusali, extracted from fermented seaweed with strong energy of life, supplies energy to the skin and promotes keratin turnover, while the Hyacinth extracts purify the skin from heavy metal, smog, and other harmful materials to leave the skin moist and transparent.
- Niacinamide helps for brightened skin tone with keratin care. Cotton extracts prevents skin damage to refine oily and dull skin for clear and healthy skin

First I must say I'm very impressed with these two products. I have combination skin whereas my cheeks area are dry and my T zone are a bit oily and acne prone. I used to have a extremely dry skin in the past and has been using shiseido the skincare line products until recently. I stopped using my shiseido skin care products because I find it too moisturizing for my current skin. And so I use this chance to buy a new skin care in Korea x).

So back to the products, the texture of both products are very light. The texture of Power Essential Skin Refiner Light is just like water. But be careful not to apply this on open acne scar, because I accidentally scratch my acne T__T and applied this toner on the scar and trust me, it stings so much that I feels like screaming! (am I exaggerating?) :p Anyway do not ever ever ever ever ever apply this on your acne scar. For the Balancing Emulsion Light, the texture is creamier and milkier compared to the toner but lighter than other moisturizer. I think this is the lightest moisturizer I have ever tried.
Balancing Emulsion Light texture

These products claims to eliminates impurities in the pores and removes keratin. I find this quite true because I realize that after a few days of using these products, I have lesser whiteheads on my forehead. These products also claims to brighten up dull and oily skin, and I also find this to be true. My complexion has improved a bit since I was using this for around 1 week. I'm still on medication for my sickness, so I realize that after being on medication for more than 3 months, my skin has become a lot duller and unhealthy. So these products actually helps my skin to recover from my dull skin into a clear and healthy skin again x). Even though I have dry cheeks, these products performs very well on my cheeks as well so don't worry about having combination skin. After using these toner and moisturizer, my skin has now become brighter and moisturized (not over moisturized) which I really like.

Laneige light basic skin care has now become my HG skincare which I think I will use for years and years until I find something better than this. I love love love love this products!!

Rating: 5 star! xD

Christmas Haul December 2011 (from Korea)!!~

Finally! After been waiting for soooooooo long, finally i can get all those korean cosmetics on hands (fresh from Korea xD!). So here it is ta-da~

As you can see here I got 3 bottles of laneige skincare, laneige eyeshadow pallette, etude blushes, holika holika blushes, holika holika lipstick, holika holika lipgloss, holika holika highlighter, holika holika mascara, and etude sponge (beauty blender dupe!).

And of course I wouldn't forget korean sheet mask!!! I only bought Innisfree sheet mask because it is extremely cheap! 1 mask only cost 950 won, which is only S$1. So I asked my brother to get me 15 masks and I got another 3 free masks. The masks that I choose are mostly for brightening and dull skin because recently I feel that my skin has become more dull and lack of shine. So I thought why not give these masks a try since the price is also extremely cheap? ;) And besides you can't really find innisfree stuff in either Singapore or Indonesia (unless if you buy it online).

And here it is the most exciting part FREEBIES!! Maybe you will wonder why I have so many skinfood freebies. My brother actually bought some skinfood products for my mom and dad so I get all the freebies here ;). Actually if you compare all the freebies that I got to another blogger who the same haul, I cannot say that I got a lot of freebies. I suspect that this is because my brother bought it at Daejeon, compared to Seoul maybe they have lesser stock of samples. But anyway I'm still very thankful that I got all these stuff for my early christmas present x). I will make sure that I do review on all these stuff that I got. So look forward to it.
Until next time take care guys ;)

I guess from here you can tell I got few bottles of laneige skincare, some etude house blushes, holika holika, etc~ x)

I will make sure that I make a proper haul and review once I got all these on hands! xD so look forward to it ;). So until next time take care guys :D

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

Today's review would be Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus which has been raved by a lot of youtubers and blogger for quite some time now :p
Since it's launch in January 2006, Majolica Majorca's Lash Expander has been consistently been a top seller in the japanese market as well as asian market now. And now I understand why x)

For the application, I usually comb my upper lashes with the flat brush and comb my lower lashes with the curve brush.

One word for this mascara AMAZING! This is the best lenghtening mascara I've ever used. If you have short and "invinsible" lashes like mine then you definitely need this! The lengthening effect is like crazy. It actually contains fiber that can make your lashes longer. It is easy to remove also. Although it doesn't give much volume and it doesn't hold my curl crazy like my Shiseido perfect mascara defining volume mascara but this mascara is definitely worth  the money. I got mine from watsons for around S$18 during the watsons 20% sale. For the price this mascara is definitely not so expensive. And the amazing thing is, normal mascara would last for 3-4 months before it dried out but I've used this mascara for almost 5 months and it haven't dried yet! So this is definitely a good alternative for people who are on budget (likeme~~).

Sometimes when I need more volume on my upper lashes, I would use my Shiseido perfect defining volume mascara and use this mascara on my lower lashes since this mascara works better for lower lashes than the shiseido one. So definitely try this one if you can. I'm gonna by my 2nd tube now. ;D

Rating: 4.5 star (it would be good if it has volumizing effect also) ;)

Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume review

Hi girls today's review is Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume!

DESCRIPTION:

All-day Beautiful Finish. Proven smudge-proof formula. Easy to Remove with Warm Water. Creates amazing volume, length and curl -- all benefits in one mascara. Intense lustrous color that never dulls. 'Flexible,' non-clumping formula stays smudge-free all day.

At first I wanted to get Lancome hypnose mascara but since I was at the shiseido counter so I thought I should give this mascara a try. This mascara claims to be waterproof and create volume, length, curl (sounds like the best mascara ever).

This mascara is indeed waterproof and hold curl very well. I think it holds my curl like all day (12 hours). The volume of this mascara, I think it's just so-so. It gives my lashes some volume but not so much compared to lancome mascara. For the lenghtening, I think it's great but compared to my majolica majorca lash expander frame plus, this mascara give lesser lenghtening effect.

Overall I don't think this mascara is worth the price (I got mine around S$42 at shiseido counter). If it just gives more volume I think I'll love this mascara. If you already have long and volume lashes I think this mascara would work better for you because it really hold curls like crazy!

Kanebo Coffret D'Or Blush review

Hi today's review will be Kanebo Coffret D'Or blush!

I got 3 colors of them. The colors are (from left to right) PK-22, OR-22, and RS-17. The blush case and the refill are sold separately. I didn't see any blush case are sold during the sale so I didn't have the case. For a refill, actually the packaging are quite nice. Usually other products refill will only come with the blush and a plastic cap on the top and the bottom of the blush, which you will definitely throw away after opening. But this thing actually came with plastic opening that you can open and close whenever you want, which is quite cool. Because if you are on budget than you don't need to buy the separate case :p

Here are the swatches of these blushes.

The swatches is only taken with one swipe. PK-22 (left) is a very sheer peachy pink, OR-22 (middle) is a soft orange, RS-17 (right) is a soft baby pink blush. So as you can see the color is quite sheer, especially the left one (PK-22). I usually take 2-3 swipe to get the color on my cheeks, except for the middle one (OR-22). All the blushes have very fine gold shimmer in it (not too much but just right amount). It actually gives a nice glow on the cheeks

What I like from this blush is the color is not chalky and very natural on my cheeks. The colors are very lovely and pastel. I personally think these blush performs better than korean brand blushes, although the color is quite similiar to korean blushes but this blush is not chalky like some other korean brand blush. For the staying power, this blush is great. I use my shu uemura uv base mousse and shiseido perfect refining foundation beneath the blush and it stays on all day. At first I didn't expect much from this blush I thought this blush will only stays for around 5-6 hours but I was wrong. After 9-10 hours of application I still can see 70% of the blush on my cheeks. I have combination skin so the skin around my cheeks are actually normal and not oily.

Moving on to the cons of this product, I think this product is a little bit to sheer for some people especially the PK-22. Sometimes when I'm in rush I just find it a bit troublesome to swipe it a lot of times to get the color on my cheeks. So I wish that this blushes are a bit more pigmented. But for you who like sheer blushes you will definitely love this blushes. :)

Rating: 4.5 star! (if this blush is more pigmented I would give this 5 star) ;D

Lunasol Nature Color Eyes review

Hi ladies! Today I'm going to review Lunasol Nature Color Eyes in no 5 nature colorful.

I first got this from last kanebo sale in Singapore only for S$30! This palette comes with 4 colors as you can see above. The colors are very playful and cute. For typical japanese eyeshadow palette, of course it contains a lot of shimmer in it. It comes with 2 double sided applicator which i don't really use.

Here are the swatches of all colors (without primer)
As you can see from the picture, the colors are very soft and shimmery. Ok start from they pros, I think the color of this eyeshadow palette are very fun and cute, and the packaging itself looks very classy and modern, which i like :D. The color itself are pigmented, buildable and easy to blend as well. It is not as powdery as other asian eyeshadow.

Moving on to the cons, what i do not like about this palette is first this is so damn expensive! I think it retails for around S$80 at kanebo counter. And for pastel color like this, you can actually find other cheaper brand alternative, especially korean brand (etude house, holika holika, etc). And because the color is super soft, sometimes it takes few swatch to get the color onto my lids. Also because of the shimmer in it I experience some fallout. The staying power is just so so on my oily lids. I think it stays for around 5-6 hours before it fades away.

I would repurchase this product if it's on sale. But it I have to pay full price for this eyeshadow palette I think I will have to think twice ;)

Rating: I would give this a 3.5 star product! ;)
Recommended: If you have a lot of money I would recommend this product to you, but if you are on budget I would not recommend this!
So until next time, take care! :D

Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner review

Hi readers, today I am going to review dolly wink liquid eyeliner.
Before i start reviewing i'll give short introduction about this brand. Dolly Wink is a brand created by Tsubasa Masukawa. This brand has been very popular in Asia (especially japan) for its cute, pinkish, and gyaru style. The best selling product of this brand is the eyeliner and fake lashes.

So moving on into the review, first of all i really love this eyeliner. I think this is the best eyeliner i've ever used. I even use it more than i use my expensive bobbi brown gel liner now because it's so convenient and easy to use. And it comes in 2 color, black and brown (I have the black one ;D) Here are the swatches of this product
And this is the swatches after i soak it with water

When I soak it with water it doesn't actually fade but when I rub it, it started to fade a bit. I think the description doesn't say that this eyeliner is waterproof, so i guess this is semi waterproof? since it doesn't budge when soaked into water.

On my oily lids it actually stays for 12 hours with my urban decay primer potion! unbelievable! I actually didn't expect much from this product at first since it's not considered as high end product. But believe me it performs as well as high end eyeliner or even better! Without primer I think it can stay for 6-8 hours, so if you are going out for a long time make sure you use your primer before putting on this eyeliner ;). Overall I think that for this product, the application is very easy and convenient and the staying power is great also.

You can find this eyeliner at your local watsons and sasa.com! ;D I got mine from sasa.com :p

Laneige multiberry yogurt repair pack review

Hi readers! I am back with Laneige multiberry yogurt repair pack review! :D

I bought this together with my laneige multiberry peeling gel because i thought they would give me better result if i use them at the same time. The repair pack retails for S$45 if i'm not wrong. For the application i usually would wash my face with my shiseido extra gentle cleansing foam, following by laneige multiberry yogurt peeling gel, then i'll apply this pack. I usually would massaged this pack into my skin for 3-4 minutes. So for the review, this product is as AMAZING as the peeling gel.

First of all, the smell is soooo YUMMY! One night i was already very sleepy when i wanted to apply this pack, and i almost put this into my mouth -.-" (ok forgive me being so sleepy that night) but honestly it smells like a real berry yogurt. Ok moving on to the texture, the texture of this product is very smooth and light.

This product is suitable for all skin types and for my dry-combination skin this products works amazingly well. It mosturizes and smoothen my face. I feels this product has brighten up my complexion a bit as well. After using this pack i always feels that my skin is plumped and smooth. This pack is also good for fading acne scar. After using it a few times, i realized that my acne scar faded faster than usual. Some blogger/youtuber claimed that this product actually do nothing for them but i think it might because of the person itself doesn't have a lot of acne scar. After all i think that this product performs really well especially if you are using it together with the peeling gel. If you want something to lighten up your acne scar and smoothen up the skin, this is a great product for you, but if you just want something to brighten up your complexion, this might be a good product for you but it takes patience to really see the result.
I think the only cons for me is it doesn't comes with a spatula. I have to dip in my finger to the tube everytime i want to use this so it's not that hygienic i guess.

Rating: Excellent product!

until next time, take care ;D

Laneige multiberry yogurt peeling gel review

For my first blog post I'll be reviewing Laneige multiberry yogurt peeling gel. If you see a lot of youtube videos or read a lot of beauty blog, you must've known that this product has been raved very much throughout the years. And I'll tell you the truth, this product is AMAZING!

Product info from Laneige:
* Soft yet powerful exfoliation
- Natural Konjac (Mannan) beads gently exfoliate dead skin cells and impurities with short time of massage.
- Recoverine from Chestnuts extracts promotes turnovers of horny layers to remove dead cells for vigorous
water supply and sleek skin texture.

* De-oxidating and calming effect for healtier skin
- Sogurty™, a specialized fermented yogurt, has anti-inflammatory effects to soothe skin from skin troubles.
- Multi berry complex (various berry extracts from raspberries, blueberries, wolfberries, cranberries,
and strawberries) delivers abundant nutrition and antioxidants to eliminate harmful free radicals.
At first I got the free sample of this peeling gel as well as the repair pack from laneige counter in kuala lumpur, Malaysia when accompanying my brother to buy laneige homme products. When i first i open the sample, it smells amazing and it works really well! (esp. the repair pack which i will review later). And so i went back to laneige counter in Singapore to purchase a full size tube along with the repair pack.
multiberry yogurt peeling gelmultiberry yogurt peeling gel
The texture is quite thick with fine beads inside (but be careful not to scrub too harsh).I love how it goes on my skin and after using this i feels that my skin gets brighter and a lot smoother. I usually use this after washing my face with my shiseido extra gentle cleansing foam and after i use the peeling gel, i'll continue with the multiberry repair pack. After I scrub my face with this peeling gel, i realize that my white heads on my forehead are disappearing on the next day but if i stop using this for a while, the white heads would come back -.-" so i guess i have to diligently scrubing my face every 2 days. The SA recommended me to use this 2-3 times a week but it doesn't seem to work for me, so i decided to use 4 times/week (i guess my whiteheads are pretty stubborn).

After using it for around 3 months, i realize that white heads on my forehead are 50% gone now! and my face is a lot brighter than before. I'm really impressed with this product.

Rating: Excellent!

until next time, take care! <3
